The other day I was arranging things in my car when I noticed a group of young runners taking a jog down the street. I thought to myself, "ah, look at them enjoying the day...what a bunch of nice kids." I turned back to my car and noticed in the corner of my eye that they didn't continue down the street but turned and started jogging my way. I immediately thought to myself, "uh oh, they better not ask for directions because I have no idea where I am."
One of the young men approached me as the others stayed back. He looked at me and said, "would you mind arm wrestling me for a scavenger hunt we are completing." "Yes, of course!" I said. As I was arm wrestling him (I didn't know it was just the "posing" of arm wrestling he wanted) he said, "oh boy, you are actually doing it."
Once that was over, I took their group photograph and they went on their way, jogging with not an ounce of fat on their bodies and their entire life ahead of them. Sigh.... oh yeah, what was I saying?
So, what a fun idea a scavenger hunt would be! I decided at that moment that I wanted to do one too! I enlisted the help of some facebook friends and would love to know what YOUR challenges are! I am going to choose the top 10 ideas and complete each one on this trip and post photographs along the way of completing these challenges. If I choose your challenge, I will also mention your name (if you would like).
To get your creative juices started, here are some ideas thus far...

A Hike To Bridal Vail Falls And Back To The USA
Since I went through the hassle of getting through the Canadian border, I might as well take a hike and enjoy what the area has to offer. In the morning, Kim and I decided to take a short walk to visit bridal vail falls in Bridal Falls, BC. It was a nice, easy walk through the forest and as usual, I stopped to snap pictures along the way. After I crossed the border, the drive into Bridal Falls was beautiful. It was a bit overcast when I arrived yesterday but today, it was beautiful.
As I took a few photographs, Kim was behind me snapping away towards me taking pictures (I didn't know it at the time) and this one with me taking a picture of the waterfall is courtesy of her.
After the walk and a nice lunch, Max and I headed on our way. We drove for hours on route 3 headed East. The road winds North And South as it makes it way through the country. I decided it was time to head back to the USA for now.
I was a little anxious to cross the border again since we had so much trouble on our way into Canada. This time, I was able to say that I met with friends and not some strangers I met on the internet. For some reason, that made a lot more sense to them. After just a few questions, I was set on my way! Yeah, FREEEE.....I was a bit relieved to be back in the USA. Even though it was a long day of driving, I felt a sense of pride as I drove on the highway. As I turned on a smaller road into a forest, I passed a car going 20 MPH in a 50MPH zone on a two lane stretch of road. As I passed, the nice gentleman decided to put his arm out the window to flip me off.
Ahhh, home sweet home in the USA.

Jackson Center, Ohio Community Days
Who doesn't love a community fair? I know I love them and I was lucky enough to attend the Jackson Center Community Days fair in, you guessed it...Jackson Center, Ohio.
As I approached the event, I knew it was one not to miss hearing the live music streaming through the town and all of the blow up jumpies for the kids to enjoy. Jackson Center is a small town with about two stop lights and the only fast food restaurant is a Subway. The main drag also has a bank, hardware store, movie theatre, small grocery store, family diner and a bar. Oh, I don't want to forget the drive through pizza and liquor store. That was a sight to see.
As I approached the fair, there was small car show at the entrance and one of the participants allowed me to take his photograph in front of his pride and joy. As I walked in the fair, it was a mixed bag of entertainment. You could bungee jump in the air, play in a sandbox full of uncooked pasta, listen to live music or get the party started by buying a "bag of beer." They were selling a party in a bag for $10. For this small fee, you too can get a plastic grocery bag full of ice and 6 bud lights in the bag.
For me, my entertainment was walking around and taking photographs of people attending the fair. Everyone was happy to be there and it was a well run fair with something for everyone. I remember going to a similar fair as a child in my hometown and taking my pet turtle, Pokey to the fair to enter a turtle race while my father entered the arm wrestling contest. Pokey won.
